Delray Beach Teens Seek 3rd Singles Triple Crown With Mom At Delray Beach Open 



DELRAY BEACH, FL (March  16, 2022) -- This week at the 2022 Association Of Pickleball Professionals (APP) Delray Beach Open, Jorja Johnson, 15, JW Johnson, 19, and Julie Johnson (mom) will seek their 3rd Pro Pickleball Singles Triple Crown.  A Triple Crown is achieved when three gold medals are won at the same event by an individual or family members that played in the same bracket.




Julie and her mixed doubles partner, Mircea Morariu, are the tournament hosts. Pro Pickleball Singles matches begin at 8am Thursday March 17th at the Delray Beach Tennis and Pickleball Center.  


Delray Beach Open Pro Schedule


Thursday Pro Singles, Friday Pro Mixed Doubles and Saturday Pro Gender Doubles will play through bronze medal matches.


APP Championship Sunday

  • All gold medal matches will be played for each pro division on Championship Sunday

  • Schedule of Championship Sunday for the five gold medal matches will be determined no later than 6pm on Saturday night for order of play. Gold matches to start at 10am and conclude by 4pm weather permitting. All the following matches will be featured on Championship Court #1 starting at 10:00 a.m. and streamed on the APP YouTube Channel (no particular order)

    • Men’s Singles Gold

    • Women's Doubles Gold

    • Men's Doubles Gold

    • Mixed Doubles Gold


The Family Trio’s first Singles Triple Crown was at the January APP Boca Raton Masters and their second Triple Crown was at the APP Plantation Open earlier this month.
