He has been making Mavericks-sized waves over in the APP and has not faced Ben Johns in a while. Consider this his hostile takeover of the main stage. Not only did he beat Ben Johns but he also beat Tyson McGuffin twice in a day.

Delray Beach Teens Anna Leigh Waters and JW Johnson Win Pro Pickleball Singles Titles At The 2021 Tournament Of Champions 


BRIGHAM CITY, UTAH (August  24, 2021) -- On Saturday, at the 2021 Tournament Of Champions in Brigham City, UT, Delray Beach, FL based Anna Leigh Waters, 14, beat Callie Smith, 29, mother of two from Orem, UT, in the Women's Singles Open bracket Gold Medal Match: 8-11,11-4,11-9 (Highlight Point, Highlight Reel 6+ mins)

Last week, JW Johnson, 18, also from Delray Beach, beat Ben Johns, 22, the #1 Singles/Doubles/Mixed Doubles Pickleball player in the world in the Men’s Singles Open bracket : 11-9,9-11,11-3. (Highlight Reel 5+ mins)


Johns had not lost a singles match since the summer of 2020. JW broke Ben’s winning streak of over 170 matches. 


The teen then faced Tyson McGuffin,  the #2 singles pickleball player in the world, twice. Winning their first match: 11-8,6-11,11-7 and then the Gold Medal Final: 11-0,9-11,11-3 (Highlight Reel 5+ mins) 


JW and Lea Janson won a bronze medal in the Mixed Doubles Open bracket at the four day event. 


JW and Dylan Frazier, 19, took fourth place in the Men's Doubles Open bracket.
